The latest round of training sessions for new Open Water Technical Officials has been announced. The sessions are all interactive video presentations via Zoom and candidates only need to attend one session to complete this stage of their training. To take part, candidates must be a current member of Swim England, Swim Wales or Swim Scotland and to become fully qualified candidates will also need to complete practical training at suitable Open Water events such as Regional Championships. Minimum age for participants is 16 years. Scheduled sessions for 2026 are: Sunday 19 April (9.00-12.00), Thursday 14 May (9.00-12.00), Thursday 14 May (18.00-21.00) and Saturday 30 May (9.00-12.00). Additional sessions may be added upon request. The fee for the final license qualification is payable upon completion of both the theory and practical elements; bursaries from Dorset County ASA are available on application.
