With July temperatures pushing 30C, Dorchester Sports Centre played host to the third 
Poole Masters Meet which again incorporated the Dorset County ASA Masters Championships.Despite the sweltering heat both in and outside the pool, the event saw a new British Record set in the Womens 55-59 years 100m Individual Medley by Jo Corben of South Downs Trojans, and three new Welsh Records set by Garfield Thomas in the Mens/Open 50m, 100m and 200m Freestyle events in the 85-89 years age group. There were also 50 new Dorset Masters CBTs this year compared with the 26 CBTs achieved in 2024.
A total of 124 swimmers took part (70 women and 54 men) in the event ranging in age from 18 to 85 years, and nearly half of all the competitors were from Dorset clubs.
Seagulls Masters won the Dorset Top Club trophy after which a welcome beverage at the Duchess of Cornwall pub in Poundbury rounded the day of nicely!
