Dorset’s swimmers again made the annual October pilgrimage to Sheffield to represent the County in the prestigious ASA National Inter County Championships. Following relegation in 2015 from Division One, Dorset coaches Barry Alldrick (Poole) and Sam Woodward (Swim Bournemouth) and team managers Andy and Sue Smart nevertheless believed that our swimmers could push for promotion to the top division once again.

The Dorset Team did not disappoint. Challenging Division Two winners Scotland West (554) all the way and finishing in second place with 527 points ahead of Devon (490) and Sussex (450), the Dorset Team guaranteed promotion for 2017.

Congratulations go to all swimmers and thanks to Dorset ASA President Mark Hoskins (Bridport Barracudas) accompanied by his wife Margaret, and also Dorset official Madeline Tysoe (Swim Bournemouth) for accompanying and supporting the team.
