The ASA SouthWest County Bursary

The ASA SouthWest County Bursary is open to all volunteers in affiliated clubs that are Swim21 accredited or actively working towards Swim21 to apply for funding towards any UKCC course for teachers and coaches. Applicants are required to identify an ASA/IoS course and to apply for the bursary before booking a place on the course. Successful applicants will receive a code which can only be used for booking the identified course through IoS Online. The code must be used at the time of booking to claim the bursary which will then be deducted from the cost. There is a limited amount available for funding and not all applicants will be successful. For an application form click here.

DCASA note: The funding year is April-March and the number of applications from a single club in any one year will be taken into consideration when awarding bursaries. Level of funding available is up to a maximum of £100 for a L1 course and up to a maximum of £200 for a L2. However, applicants typically receive the minimum of £50 for a L1 course and £100 a L2. Retrospective applications (ie made after the course has been booked) will not be considered and not using the bursary your code at the time of booking online will invalidate the bursary.

The Dorset County Bursary

The Dorset County Bursary is open to members of all clubs affiliated to Dorset County ASA and who are actively volunteering for that club. Applicants may apply for funding towards ASA/IoS and STA courses for teachers and coaches. The funding year is April to March and bursary applications will only be reviewed and awarded at the end of that funding year. Bursaries will only be approved on receipt of proof that the applicant has successfully completed the course. There is a limited amount available for funding and not all applicants may be successful. For an application form click here.

DCASA note: Level of funding available for ASA/IoS courses is £50 (L1) or £100 (L2) and £50 for an STA course. DCASA aims to support all applications for funding when possible for teachers and coaches courses but will not award bursaries to paid coaches or double-fund volunteers receiving support from other sources (excludes funding from applicant's own club). Clubs/volunteers found not declaring funding from other sources at the time of application will not be eligible to apply for funding thereafter. However an additional bursary may be awarded at the discretion of DCASA, and in particular where applicants have applied for an ASA SouthWest County bursary but have only been awarded the minimum amount. Retrospective applications (ie made after the course has been booked or completed) will be considered, but only if the application is received within the same funding year as the course.

Relicensing fee costs will be paid by Dorset County ASA for a qualified and licensed official who is a member of an affiliated club and who volunteers to officiate at County competitions. Requests should be via the DCASA Officials organiser, Jill Beard.
